The El Dorado Hills Archery Range has been open to the public for over 60 years! It is overseen and maintained by the El Dorado Hills Bowmen (EDHB), a non-profit club whose dedicated members contribute of their time to build, maintain, and improve the buildings, target stations, trails, roads, structures, signs, etc., throughout the facility. In partnership with the EDH Community Services District (CSD), the club also provides beginning archery classes and holds events to grow community engagement in the sport.

While the bulk of labor necessary to keep the range in a pristine state is supplied by club members, FUNDING COMES IN SOLELY THROUGH MEMBERSHIP FEES AND PUBLIC DONATIONS! This income is used for:

  • Ongoing rotation of over 50 target backings (butts) at a cost of over $700 each.
  • Purchase of paper targets/cardboard backings at an annual cost of over $3,000.
  • Biannual professional weed control to the tune of over $8,000 yearly.
  • Constant structural maintenance and repairs.
  • Improving the facility through additions and enhancements.
  • Purchase of equipment and tools necessary for range maintenance.

The range has an annual operating cost of approximately $35,000-$40,000 and our funding sources sometimes run short! There are several ways you can help us ensure the range stays open for use for another six decades:

  • Donate to Friends of Eldorado Hills Public Archery Range (FEDHPAR)
This 501(c)(3) organization facilitates the collection of monetary gifts for facility maintenance and improvements. 100% of every donation does straight to the range. In addition to the tax benefits resulting from your gift, you can feel good about helping to keep the range open for another six decades and be proud to help provide the local community with open access to a world-class archery facility.
  • Share from your purchase through Amazon Smile
Another way to donate is to shop at smile.amazon.com. This retailer donates 0.5% of eligible purchases to your favorite charitable organization – no fees, no extra cost. Simply:

    • Visit smile.amazon.com
    • Sign in with the same account you use for Amazon.com
    • Select your charity (Friends of El Dorado Hills Public Archery Range)
  • Provide “In Kind” services, goods, or expertise
We often have need of goods, skilled labor/services, or professional advice, such as large-scale construction, heavy equipment machinery/operation, donation of materials, legal consultation, etc. Many individuals and companies have supported us in the past to expand and improve the archery experience. There are some tax incentives to doing so and we publicly recognize our benefactors via our website, mailings and through our highly visible banner at the entrance to the range.
  • El Dorado Community Foundation
Through its affiliation with the El Dorado Hills Community Services District, the club can receive donations through the El Dorado Community Foundation. The El Dorado Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations to the EDHB can be submitted online at edc.fcsuite.com and searching for “El Dorado Hills Bowmen”.
